Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

None. ParaHours has no backend of its own. Apart from the one-time App Store purchase described below — which is handled by Apple, not by us — the app makes no network requests. It does not use analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services, and it does not integrate any third-party software development kits. We — the developer — have no way to see, receive, or access anything you enter into the app.

What the App Stores on Your Device

To do its job, ParaHours saves the following on your device only:

• Staff information you enter: names, roles, assigned school or site, grade level (if applicable), and contracted hours per day.
• Time records: clock-in and clock-out times and the daily hour totals you log or enter for each staff member.
• Your own settings: rounding rules, break policy, pay-period dates, record-retention window, export format, and similar preferences.

ParaHours is built specifically to never hold student names, student records, or any other student-related data. That was a deliberate design decision from the start, and no part of the app collects it.

How Your Data Is Stored

Everything above is saved in a single file in the app's private storage area on your device (the app's Application Support directory), protected by the same iOS sandboxing and device security — passcode and encryption at rest — as every other app on your phone. This file is included in your device's local or iCloud backups only if you have those enabled at the operating-system level. ParaHours itself has no access to iCloud or to any server of ours; the only network activity it performs is the App Store purchase and restore, handled by Apple's software.

How Data Can Leave Your Device

Data leaves your device only when you explicitly choose to move it:

• Export a timesheet report (CSV, PDF, or RTF) — this opens iOS's standard share sheet, and you pick the destination yourself (Files, Mail, AirDrop, another app, and so on). ParaHours has no involvement in that transfer beyond generating the file.
• Copy Totals to your clipboard, for you to paste elsewhere.

"Lock week" is local bookkeeping only — it marks a week as finalized on your device and does not send or submit anything anywhere.

Purchases

ParaHours is free. Exporting and copying your hours out of the app are unlocked by a single one-time purchase made through Apple's App Store. That transaction is handled entirely by Apple: your payment details go to Apple, never to us, and the app only ever learns whether the unlock has been purchased for your Apple ID. Apple provides us with the same aggregate, non-identifying sales reports it gives every developer — these do not tell us who you are or anything you entered into the app. Restoring a previous purchase uses Apple's standard "Restore Purchases" mechanism and involves no information beyond your App Store account.

Data Sharing

We don't share your information with anyone, because we don't collect or have access to it in the first place. There are no third parties involved in the operation of this app.

Children's Privacy

ParaHours is a workplace tool for adult supervisors managing adult staff. It is not directed at children, does not knowingly collect data from children, and — as noted above — is specifically designed to exclude student data entirely.

Data Retention and Deletion

You decide how long records are kept, and the app never deletes anything on its own:

• The Record Retention setting marks weeks older than the window you choose (in weeks, months, or years) as past their retention limit. ParaHours then flags those weeks for your review — on the Home screen and in Settings — but does not remove them. They are deleted only when you open the review screen and confirm the deletion yourself. Shortening the window only changes what is flagged; nothing is lost automatically.
• Remove sample data clears the built-in demo roster without touching your real staff data.
• Clear roster & start fresh permanently deletes everything in the app.

Deleting the app from your device also permanently deletes all of its data, since nothing exists anywhere else.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds a feature that does involve a server — this page will be updated and the effective date above will change accordingly. Material changes will also be reflected in the app's App Store listing.
