Privacy Policy
Short version
School Day Shutdown does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your information. There is no account, no server, and no analytics. Everything you type into the app stays on your device.
Information We Collect
None. School Day Shutdown has no backend and makes no network requests of any kind. The app does not use analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services, and it does not integrate any third-party software development kits.
How Your Data Is Stored
The items you capture, the decisions you make about them, your reflections, and your app settings (such as your chosen color theme and reminder time) are saved only on your device, using Apple's standard on-device storage (UserDefaults). This data is private to the app and is included in your device's local or iCloud backups only if you have those enabled at the operating-system level — School Day Shutdown itself has no access to iCloud or any other server.
Notifications
If you turn on the optional end-of-day reminder, School Day Shutdown schedules a local notification directly on your device using Apple's notification system. No push notification server is involved, and no notification content ever leaves your device.
Data Sharing
We don't share your information with anyone, because we don't collect or have access to it in the first place. There are no third parties involved in the operation of this app.
Children's Privacy
School Day Shutdown is designed for educators and is not directed at children. Regardless, since the app collects no data from any user, no data is collected from children either.
Your Control Over Your Data
Because everything is stored locally, you are always in full control of your data:
- Deleting an item within the app permanently removes it.
- Deleting the app from your device permanently removes all of its stored data.
- There is no account to create or delete, because none exists.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds a feature that does involve a server — this page will be updated and the effective date above will change accordingly.
